This year, Fundación Cepsa's Social Value Awards will promote 38 new solidarity initiatives by different entities in Spain, Portugal, Colombia and Brazil. Fundación Cepsa will hand out over 360,000 euros to them so that these projects can become a reality and thus directly promote the inclusion and well- being of more than 19,000 people.
This year, 380 candidatures have been submitted in the different Awards sections, where Cepsa carries out a relevant activity and has established deeper ties and relations with the community: Campo de Gibraltar (Cádiz), Canary Islands, Huelva, Madrid, Brazil, Colombia and Portugal.

The Fundación Cepsa also plans to award the Special Employee Award to three other projects, chosen by Cepsa's own professionals from 14 finalist projects from each territory in which the Social Value Awards are held. This year's winners were Fundación del Quemado, Corporación Síndrome de Down, both from Colombia; and Bomberos Unidos Sin Fronteras (“United Firefighters without Borders”), from Huelva.
The latter project organizes awareness days in schools to promote the basic values for harmonious coexistence: solidarity, generosity and sacrifice, as well as cooperation and volunteering. The mission of the Huelva delegation of United Firefighters Without Borders, the winning project, is to encourage people to enjoy helping people from disadvantaged communities.

Teresa Mañueco, Director General of the Cepsa Fundación Cepsa, points out that “since we began to promote these Awards thirteen years ago, our objective has been to recognize and shed light on the essential work carried out by the social entities in our environment, helping to make their projects a reality. We want to continue playing a key role in helping forge bonds in our communities and having a direct impact on our social environment.”

Since 2005, over 270 projects have seen the light of day through the Social Value Awards, directly improving the lives of nearly 26,000 people. A very broad range of people from our communities benefit: families at risk of social exclusion, disadvantaged women, minors, the elderly, immigrants, people with disabilities or drug addicts, and many others.
