- The company has donated €10,000 in fuel cards for Civil Protection and other services in the province of Cadiz
- It has also donated another €10,000 to assist the Civil Protection Services of the Andalusian Government Delegation in Huelva
Fundación Cepsa has donated €10,000 to the Civil Protection Services of the province of Cádiz, the Andalusian forest fire unit (Infoca) and the regional delegations for health and equality of the Regional Government of Andalusia, through the Regional Government’s Sub-delegation in Campo de Gibraltar. The contribution is intended to fund transportation to provide assistance such as distributing material and food, disinfecting facilities and other forms of assistance provided during this period by health care workers, volunteers and other groups with the aim of combatting COVID-19.
It has also donated €10,000 to the Delegation of the Regional Government of Andalusia in Huelva for the Civil Protection Services, to support its actions during this health crisis.
Furthermore, last week, Fundación Cepsa donated another €30,000 worth of fuel cards to the regional governments of Madrid and the Canary Islands, which was destined for the Transport Department of the Government of the Canary Islands and the Health Department of the Community of Madrid, respectively, to assist in medical travel associated with COVID-19 and further assistance provided by other groups who are also actively engaged with this crisis.
Eva Pajares, the deputy councilor of the regional government of Andalusia in Campo de Gibraltar, thanked citizens and companies for their contributions, such as those made by Fundación Cepsa, to help in this health crisis: "This is a very difficult situation in which we need to work together and this is what we are seeing: society and companies like Cepsa and its Foundation are showing exemplary behavior by helping in any way they can. I have no doubt that we will stop this virus together and we will achieve it as one." Pajares also highlighted the work of the law enforcement authorities, local police forces, civil protection services, non-governmental organizations, health care workers, public transport operators and professionals in the energy sector, who work every day to help the country overcome the crisis caused by COVID-19.
