- The Awards jury has been selected and will be once again chaired by the Member of the Commons Rafael Yanes.
A total of 61 non-profit organizations in the Canary Islands are competing this year for the Fundación Cepsa's Social Value Awards, with projects supported by as many Cepsa professionals in the archipelago, who act as solidarity sponsors.
The meeting for the jury's decision, which will again be chaired by the Member of the Commons, Rafael Yanes, will take place in the first fortnight of November. The winning projects, up to a maximum of six, will share this time up to 65,000 euros in the Islands.
The aim of these Awards, Fundación Cepsa's primary social action, is to recognize and promote social initiatives that favor inclusion and welfare of disadvantaged people or groups, as well as to encourage these charitable values among Cepsa's professionals, who act as sponsors in presenting the organizations interested in submitting their projects.
Since the awards were first launched on the islands in 2008, they have already helped fund 55 projects of different shapes and sizes and have paid out a total of 495,000 euros.
364 projects submitted this year globally
This year, 364 projects have been submitted from across all the regions where Fundación Cepsa’s awards are run: Canary Islands, Campo de Gibraltar, Madrid, Huelva province, Portugal, Colombia and Brazil. The increase in the financial endowment of up to 500,000 euros experienced last year has been maintained.
Since it was first held in 2005, these awards have handed out more than three million euros to 385 projects to help improve the quality of life of over 60,000 people.

This is an additional award presented by Cepsa's very own professionals. Among 14 projects selected by the different juries from Spain, Portugal, Colombia and Brazil, Cepsa professionals will choose a maximum of five winners, who will share up to 45,000 euros.
