- The delivery is intended for the vehicles the association uses to do its work in the province
- This donation stems from the Great Food Drive organized every year throughout Spain
This donation arose from the donation campaign the Great Food Drive, which is organized every year by the food banks of Spain. Fundación Cepsa has been participating with them since they began. Cepsa employees and their families responded to the usual call for volunteers through the Voluntas Corporate Volunteer Program with the Foundation's commitment to donate fuel for each volunteer.
This most recent campaign of the Food Banks of Spain could not be carried out with volunteers in person due to COVID-19 prevention reasons, rather with direct monetary donations and at the cash registers of collaborating supermarkets. However, Fundación Cepsa kept its commitment for another year to collaborate with this cause by contributing the amount allocated for this volunteer activity of Cepsa employees, which could not be done, by donating these cards.
Teresa Millán, on behalf of Fundación Cepsa in Huelva, has made this delivery to the vice-president of the Food Bank, Francisco Quijada, who has taken the opportunity to inform him about the result of this campaign that has exceeded the association's expectations. "140,000 euros were donated by individuals and will be transformed into the most necessary food." He also highlighted the "important and necessary collaboration of the staff of collaborating supermarkets, true volunteers of the 2020 campaign, who with their effort and involvement have been the architects of its success and to whom us at the Association express our thanks."
In addition to this collaboration originally based around the Great Food Drive, Fundación Cepsa contributed to the Huelva Food Bank in 2020 to alleviate the effects of the health crisis with a donation of 70,000 euros and 54 tons of hygiene and cleaning products, the latter in collaboration with the Persán Foundation.
Fundación Cepsa’s charitable work
Fundación Cepsa is in charge of channeling the company's charitable work into activities focused on the needs of the communities and towns in which Cepsa has a presence. The Social Value Awards are among its most well-known annual activities, supporting the charitable work of projects in Spain and abroad. They have been awarded annually since 2005 to bring to life initiatives carried out by organizations and groups that work toward inclusion and social improvement in the province and would otherwise be difficult to carry out.
