- Since 2005, these awards have funded 385 projects that have improved the lives of around 60,000 people.
Additionally, in this new edition, Fundación Cepsa will maintain the special provision of 500,000 euros to be distributed among the winning projects, a figure that was already increased in 2020 by 100,000 euros over previous years. This provision is maintained with the aim of continuing to support disadvantaged groups, increasing the amount per winning project in a complex socioeconomic context for third sector entities from €12,000 to a maximum of €15,000.
These awards are open to social projects undertaken in Madrid, the Canary Islands, Huelva, Campo de Gibraltar, Portugal, Colombia and Brazil, geographical areas where Cepsa and its Foundation have relevant activity and where they have established close ties and relations with the community.
With these awards, Fundación Cepsa recognizes the work of different organizations that seek to improve the quality of life of a broad spectrum of social groups: socially vulnerable individuals, the unemployed, the sick, people with physical or intellectual disabilities, ethnic minorities, children, teenagers and young adults, the elderly and victims of gender violence, among others.
Cristina Ortiz, director of Fundación Cepsa, emphasized: "The main objective of the Social Value Awards is to improve the quality of life of the society around us. In this regard, given the complexity of the situation we are experiencing due to the pandemic, which has continued over time, we believe that it is necessary to maintain this special allocation to contribute to those projects that help the most vulnerable groups. That is why we have increased the amount per winning project. At the same time, at Fundación Cepsa, we are certain that supporting measures that favor the ecological transition is one of the most direct ways to ensure social welfare in the long term, so we will positively value sustainable projects".
Entities wishing to take part may enter their projects from September 9 through September 30 via the Foundation's website: www.fundacioncepsa.com.
The decision reached by each of the local panels, which include representatives from institutions working in the field of social action, will be announced in December. Next, Cepsa professionals will choose five more winning projects and will also work alongside the participating entities by acting as solidarity sponsors for all aspiring initiatives in the Social Value Awards.
Since it was first held in 2005, these awards have handed out more than three million euros to 385 projects to help improve the quality of life of over 60,000 people.onas.
