- The Ramón Díaz de Bustamante Foundation is the winner of the 2022 Social Value Awards with this initiative that combines other therapies such as plant workshops
The initiative consists of acquiring furniture and equipment for the different occupational therapy rooms to improve the quality of life and care of the elderly residents at the center. In addition to material for more classic workshops, such as obstacle courses for working on psychomotor skills, therapies with plants and multisensory stimulation, the highlight of this initiative, have been implemented. These therapies create a setting that provides visual, tactile, olfactory, and auditory sensory experiences that promote emotional well-being and stimulate both physical and cognitive abilities, while offering professionals different elements that can help them achieve their therapeutic objectives. The staff of the San Ramón Nonato Residence have received specific training to be able to carry out these types of therapy.
Estrella Blanco, head of Fundación Cepsa, attended this visit with the Cepsa San Roque professional David Salazar, the sponsor of the Ramón Díaz de Bustamante y Vélez Foundation. She valued "the work being done by this foundation’s team for the good of the elderly in our society, who can now benefit as well from multisensory stimulation therapies that even users with a greater level of disability can participate in.”
