- The program also includes reinforcing social and educational skills with families.
Fundación Cepsa is getting a close look at how the winning projects of the latest edition of the Social Value Awards are being developed, which in this visit has focused on the winning project in the 2020 edition of the Vincentian Family Association (Afavi), which consists of carrying out a program called Aula en Red,, aimed at punished students.
This program is an educational project to assist students who have been suspended from attending school, whether it is a medium or long term punishment, both in primary and secondary education, in the municipality of La Línea de la Concepción. To prevent this type of punishment from leading to school failure or dropout, Afavi works on individual and group social skills and emotional education, in addition to providing educational support. It also work with the children’s families to reinforce skills. ‘Aula en Red’ has been possible thanks to the entity’s coordination with the educational centers of the city, as well as the City Council.
The head of Fundación Cepsa in the Campo de Gibraltar, Estrella Blanco, visited the facilities of Afavi in La Linea, hand in hand with those responsible for the entity. Blanco highlighted “the value of the ‘Aula en Red’ program, an initiative that responds to a gap in society. Minors expelled from schools due to their behavior are not left without follow-up, homework or routine, but rather, when they join the program, they keep all of this, in addition to working on social skills, with the clear objective of trying to prevent them from reoffending.”
