- 340 pupils from eight schools took part in the second edition of the Energy Workbooks program
- The third edition of World Wetlands Day attracted more than 600 year-six elementary school children
Pupils from the following schools received awards as part of the Energy Workbooks and World Wetlands Day programs: Sagrado Corazón from Puente Mayorga; Santa Rita from Campamento; CEIP Taraguilla; San Bernardo, Alfonso XI and Adalides from Algeciras; Isabel La Católica from La Línea and La Inmaculada from La Línea and Algeciras; along with IES Antonio Machado from La Línea.
Fundación Cepsa representative and Gibraltar-San Roque Refinery director, Miguel Pérez de la Blanca; the regional government of Andalusia’s deputy councilor in Campo de Gibraltar, Ángel Gavino; vice president of the Union of Municipalities, Marina García; and the mayor of San Roque, Juan Carlos Ruiz Boix, handed out the awards.
This year, the Energy Workbooks and World Wetlands Day programs, linked to the world of energy, oil, chemicals and their applications, as well as the environment, attracted entries from almost a thousand pupils of all ages (elementary to Baccalaureate) from various schools.
Fundación Cepsa invited the winning school children in the different categories and their families to a ceremony in Alameda de San Roque.
Miguel Pérez de la Blanca congratulated all the pupils who took part and praised them for their effort in submitting high quality and original work. He also thanked their teachers for their involvement in the projects and help with encouraging so many kids to participate.
